Quite often in Hollywood when ideas for a new tv show or film dry up the decision is made to bring back a classic from our childhood to a new audience.
In recent years we have had Thunderbirds, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many others and more recently MacGuyver, Lethal Weapon and Rush Hour.
Every time, the same old saying rears its ugly head “… ruined my childhood” or “… is ruining my childhood” and more often than not “Michael Bay is ruining my childhood”.
The simple answer is. No, it isn’t or is it ever going to.
At the end of the day our childhood is still intact. There has been no butterfly effect. No new timeline has been created. It’s not as if our childhood is suddenly going to disappear and we forget all about it. We still have the boxsets, the books and the toys.
Let the new, younger audience enjoy it. It’s their childhood now.
